The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency stated it really is alarmed about the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This really is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area each day. The services point established for intervention activities a higher inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it hard for the Workplace to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra assets to enable the servicing of all shoppers and improve usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
